Chargeable weight calculator
The quickest way to find the weight your air freight quote will be based on.
0 kgActual weight
0 kgVolumetric weight
0 kgChargeable weight
Volumetric weight = length × width × height × quantity ÷ 6000. Airlines generally price on chargeable weight — the greater of actual and volumetric. Exact rules vary by carrier.
How it works
- Enter quantity, length, width and height in centimetres
- Enter the actual weight in kilograms
- FitRate calculates volumetric weight using the standard 6000 divisor
- Chargeable weight is the greater of the two
When the numbers differ
- Dense cargo (machinery, metal parts) usually prices on actual weight
- Light, bulky cargo (garments, packaging, mattresses) usually prices on volumetric weight
